Certified Yoga Therapist, C-IAYT
Licensed PTA
Certified Viniyoga Therapist by the Association of Yoga Therapists
After over a dozen years working in a Premiere Palm Beach Physical Rehabilitation Center, while honoring the allopathic approach, Ms. Lester decided to channel her 20 years of yoga study into a rigorous 1000 hour course of study in Yoga Therapy.
She became driven when discovering that this non-pharmacological, gentler, yet still, thorough approach to specific maladies/sources of chronic pain, could enhance wellness in her patients faster and more effectively than the physical therapy she’d been practicing for so many years.
Yoga Therapy has simple yet profound strategies rooted in the ancient practice of yoga and integrated with the best of our modern day physical therapy, and then a little more…. It’s an evidence-based program treating, managing, and reducing suffering better and faster – it is thought that merging many aspects of yoga, including, most importantly, the breathwork, with proven PT and other proven bio-physical techniques, helps to train the brain that moves the muscle along with retraining the muscle to move in a more harmonious way – often the way it moved prior to injury or incident of overuse.
Yoga Therapy is NOT fitness yoga — While fitness yoga is a healthy pursuit that can benefit its practitioners in its general form. Yoga Therapy is an evolving field and brought forward into its modern usage by many health practitioners including researchers who have been published in peer reviewed articles in current medical journals.
Ceci Lester will work with your specific needs and design a custom program for you to keep the pain away, strengthen and retrain the body’s performance (via muscle, tendons, ligaments and their movements) and help you to avoid any future injury from overuse or elsewise.
Physical Therapy – we know that some have become used to the good benefits of Physical Therapy and, so, we continue to offer PT evaluations and traditional PT for all who desire.
